This great program runs in three different versions so you can decide which suits your needs and budget. You can attend Computer Smart at Southport and we provide the computer (or laptop); paper, pens, morning tea and a manual; or you can use Zoom or MS Teams and train from home or the office.

We offer a variety of courses designed specifically for absolute beginners – people with very little or no experience with computers at all.

 

Course 1: Basic Computer Beginner (3 hours)   $255

The course goes for three hours. It is short but packs lots of the good stuff in there and it lets you build your concentration and layer your skill development. We get you confidently working on a laptop or PC; use the computer filing system; use Windows 10 and start using MS Word. You may want to continue and you are most welcome to move to the next course (discounts will apply).

Course 2: Microsoft (MS) Basics (6 hours)   $510

The course comprises of 2 x 3 hour sessions = 6 hours. This type of training allows three hours each day to develop concentration on the screen; enables revision and practice to feel more comfortable with using computers; is layered to develop skills each day and then practise them the next training day.

This course is ideal for those wishing to get into Office Administration; perfect for re-training people leaving physical jobs (due to injury or illness); WorkCover and Insurance clients; great for Seniors coming on-board the computer bus.

The MS Basics covers the introduction to MS Word and MS Excel, and includes basic filing and retrieval of files; loading and downloading files; typing using a keyboard and develop your confidence with computing.

Course 3: The Full Microsoft (MS) Basics (9 hours)  $765

The Full Basics comprises 3 x 3 hour sessions = 9 hours. This type of training allows three hours each day to develop concentration on the screen; enables revision and practice to feel more comfortable with using computers; is layered to develop skills each day and then practise them the next training day.

This course is ideal for those wishing to get into Office Administration; perfect for re-training people leaving physical jobs (due to injury or illness); WorkCover and Insurance clients; great for Seniors coming on-board the computer bus.

Course 1:  Basic Computer Beginner

At the completion of this course, students understand the basic operation of a computer including turning a computer on and shutting down correctly, creating and changing screen savers; desk top backgrounds;  writing and saving Word  documents; recovering a document once it’s been deleted, searching for files and folder; file management (how to save things correctly). Uploading and downloading to a USB is included, along with using a webcam; loading photos; using Face Book and YouTube.

This course consists of 1 x 3 hr sessions. The cost is $255 for this part only.

Course 2: Microsoft Basics 

At the completion of this course, students will have a basic understanding of the principles of using Microsoft Word and MS Excel, including navigating around a document, formatting the document and working with text; the principles of spread-sheeting including data entry, formatting and printing and a variety of simple formulas.

This course is six hours and costs $510.

Course 3: The Full Microsoft (MS) Basics

 You can select any 3 courses from Level 1 MS Word; MS Excel; MS Outlook or MS PowerPoint. All courses are necessary for administration jobs and will open up opportunities in a wide variety of areas. You will know your way around a computer when you have finished this course.

This course is nine hours and costs $765.
